I'm intrigued...in location, subject, & fashion message.

In looking for inspiration and photographers to work with in the future on fashion-related projects (I have a few things up my sleeve) I thought I would share photo captures of creatives in the game building their body of work. My eye for talent is something I pride myself on and think these photographers have something...Hopefully they will be willing to work with me in the near future...

To be continued...

Career Devolopment with Powerhouse for Artists???

YES!!!!

This is a new year for moving further ahead in your endeavors and I encourage everyone to strive for greatness and be the best in whatever it is you do from designing fashion/jewelry to wardrobe styling to art direction - WHATEVER!! One lesson I've learned is that you can't do it all on your own and whether you are an amateur or professional I think it's healthy for one to always get positive and critical feedback on your craft...

With that being said, I just found out that the publishing company, PowerHouseBooks has organized a Portfolio Review and workshops for aspiring and professional photographers with leading experts in the field of art, media and advertising. They have been doing this since 2005 and it's supposedly highly sought-after. I highly recommend this for artists in the field of photography that want or need some direction in their artistic or commercial career. They will only see 100 photographers so I wouldn't wait to register!!!

DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DO IT!!!

Click here to register for the 6th Annual PowerHouse Portfolio Review Sunday, Febuarary 28th, 2010 @ the PowerHouse Arena in DUMBO, Brooklyn. For more info go to 2010 Portfolio Review

For fun, I plugged samples of my photography throughout this post. Yeah, believe it or not, I shoot around too. lol...I kinda started shooting pregnant women (friends of mine) with the idea of pampering them for the day by having their make-up done by Cassandra Renee, wardrobe them and even art direct a shoot around them to create a personalized album for the expecting mother and their families. Sounds like a great idea for a small business, huh??? ;-) So some of the images are of those shoots and a few random shots....

An Unearthed FashionGem: DAN SANTOSO PHOTOGRAPHY

We already know that I am into production...fashion shoots and art direction. I absolutely love well conceptualized concepts for fashion ad campaigns or fashion editorials. Production is HUGE in making it all happen and when the finish product is put together it really shows what type of production went into it.

Films are the ultimate thing that comes to mind when I think of production and having studied it I can appreciate what goes into creating masterpieces for people to see and be moved. It's a special form of ART and I would like to share with you someone that I believes embodies that in their work but through photography.

Allow me to introduce to you DAN SANTOSO....

His work speaks for its self:

Soul by Thierry le Gouès, Photographer

Remember the art work in the movie BELLY directed by Hype Williams?? Well, it was by French fashion photographer, Thierry Le Goues. I just rediscoverd his work through my sister and had to share his captures of the ultimate human form in the most STRIKING, BOLD and BEAUTIFUL way...

INSPIRATION OF THE DAY: Peter Lindbergh Photography

LINDBERGH'S FACES OF FASHION: Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatjana Patitz, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford

Bet, you can't remember what fashion magazine cover/issue this iconic image is from!!! Who knows their stuff and what happened to the SUPERMODEL era?...

FIERCE Gisele Bundchen in the April 09 issue of Harper's Bazaar

This is such a classic shot remenicensent of the infamous Josephine Baker...Naomi nailed this shot back in 1988!
Another classic shot that makes me giddy...for three reasons: my favorite SUPERmodels, the motocycles, and the BACKDROP of this image is, of course, home sweet home...BROOKLYN, NY!!!

Peter Lindbergh's subtle dramatic b/w images are so raw, gritty yet real and beautiful to me. Check out the April Issue of Harper's Bazaar to see more of his recent work!
